2008 600cc bike power and torque figures

Take five 2008 sportsbikes and speed test them. Then put them on RJS Superbike centre's Dynojet dyno. What makes most power? The CBR600RR? R6? GSX-R600? Daytona 675? ZX-6R? ...
We're in the middle of doing our annual 600cc sportsbike group test (in which we include the Triumph Daytona 675). And, as part of the test procedure, we take them to Bruntingthorpe proving ground to data log speed and acceleration figures. And then we take them to a dyno and measure power and torque.

Well, we took five 2008-spec bikes to Rob at RJS Superbike performance centre at Mallory circuit and here are the bare numbers.

R6 115.98bhp@ 14,500rpm. Torque: 45.90lb/ft @ 10,500rpm

ZX-6R 110.93bhp@ 13,500rpm. Torque: 44.96lb/ft @ 12,000rpm

Honda CBR600RR 112.81bhp@ 13,500rpm. Torque: 46.93lb/ft @ 11,000rpm

GSX-R600 111.65@ 13,500bhp Torque: 47.29lb/ft @ 11,200rpm

Triumph Daytona 675 113.79@ 12,400rpm Torque: 51.22lb/ft @ 10,000rpm

Not a lot in it in terms of power, but the R6 was a cut above – and, according to Rob at RJS Superbikes, this was fairly typical of the 2008-spec R6s that he had dynoed.

And if you want your bike dynoed or get some road or track prep or a Dynojet Power Commander dialed in, Rob's your man. Call Rob at RJS on 01455 845611. RJS is at Mallory park circuit.
